The managing directors, József Hegedüs, economist and sociologist, Iván Tosics, mathematician and sociologist, and András Ekés, architect are highly experienced researchers in the areas of economic, political and sociological issues of housing, urban management, regional and local governments. Their papers are published in well-known international periodicals and are presented at important scientific forums. The permanent research staff of MRI is made up of highly qualified economists, sociologists, architects and urban planners. The wide range of expertise strengthens the Institute’s commitment to study the issues of urban development, housing policy and local government finance in a comprehensive way that combines a variety of approaches. The professional background of the members of staff is very diverse, many of them have foreign experience and qualifications. In general each of them speaks at least one foreign language fluently. Thus the languages spoken in the institute include English, French, German, Rumanian, Russian and Spanish. In addition to its permanent research staff, the company hires outside experts on a temporary basis. The research capacity is strengthened by a highly qualified administrative and technical support staff.
